vacuum or vent lines?

i was checking for more bad vacuum lines and saw two coming from the trans. do those need to be connected or they just vent tubes? pics coming soon

there are trans cooler lines that go to the radiator...

these are two rubber hoses on top. they are vacuum type hoses.

i'm just trying to find out if they need to be hooked up or are they just vent hoses. theres one on the drivers and passenger side

i'd say hook them up, dad's old auto didn't shift right when the vac lines cracked, but that was an old gm

here is a e bay link of a trans that has the two black tubes. float over the first pic over the black tubes. just trying to find out if these are vent tubes or do they to be hooked up.

They are vent tubes. They don't connect to anything.

sweet thanks. this car still a nightmare. i just dropped it off at the shop that put the trans in for me and they are replacing all the vacuum lines that the first shop put dry rotted lines on

i just wanted to make sure josh. the car runs but not like its should. finding a lot off crappy work from the first shop thats getting done right

me too. next week they are putting on the trans harness and checking the maf iacv and i'm going to change the O2 and the coolant temp sensor tomorrow.
