EJ22T swap no spark

ok so im stuck..... got the motor dropped, wiring ran, and now i have no spark.... ignighter tested good coil tested good replaced the crank and cam sensors and still nothing..... any ideas? ecu has power and i have fuel only things not hooked up are the o2 sensor, knock sensor and i hardwired the fuel pump..... any suggestions would be appriciated. the harness has been completely stripped so no test connecters under dash stuff etc.

Can you please provide some information on what vehicle you've swapped the ej22t into? Was the motor running before it was installed? Did you rebuild it or do any other maintenance/work on it before reinstalling?

being installed in a 1987 XT Turbo changed the timing belt for good measure triple checked the timing so i KNOW its good. motor ran a year ago when it was pulled compression is good, passed a leakdown test, has 43 PSI to the injectors, everything else is good just cant get spark

Are you using the igniter that came with the ej22t engine? There is an extra lead that goes to pin 4 of the igniter that should be a 12v switched ignition lead. You can d/l the fsm from me, and page 304 of 335 shows the igniter wiring.

is the ignighter turbo specific? the one in there now is just a random known working one that i believe i pulled from a n/a 22e car..... its known working and all the leads to the ignighter are hooked up.

The igniter is potentially ECU & year specific. The 90-91 non-turbo & 91-94 turbo legacies I believe had that extra wire going to the igniter, while the 92-94 non-turbo legacies did not have that extra wire.

Is the igniter a hitachi or JECS igniter?

believe its a hitachi have to check.... 91-94 legacy turbo ECUs interchange know that for a fact lol have a customer who fried the computer in his 92 and is now running a 94 computer

I'd suggest verifying that the extra wire is hooked up to the igniter.

ignighter is hooked up correctly also verified the coil is hooked up correctly. rewired the fuel pump correctly and it isnt priming so im starting to wonder if the computer isnt booting up properly

Did you hook up the check engine light? If so, is it illuminating when you turn the key to the ON position? If you didn't hook up the CEL, I'd suggest wiring it to a test light to see if it comes on with the key in the ON position and engine not running. This will help you determine whether the ECU is turning on.

the cel is wired properly and does come on when key is in the on position

Are you using the ej22t ecu with an N/A under-dash harness?

Have you verified the ECU is continuing to get power while cranking? Are you getting any output on the ignition output pins at the ECU?

yes injectors are firing

i guess im not sure what you are asking the ignition switch has power the relay has power there is power going to the coil and ignightor but no pulse of any kind to or from either

That's what I was asking....Are you getting any sort of signal from the ECU when the engien is cranking. If I understand, the answer is no. Have you tested this at the ECU?

If yes, and still nothing, I'd say it's either a crank or cam sensor (the associated wiring) or the ECU.

starting to believe its the ECU as the sensors tested good and are wired properly.
