What tire with WRX rims?
I looked through all the pages in this forum and I couldn't seem to find a diffative answer about if a 215/45/R16 tire will rub with WRX wheels and stock suspention height. I'm not sure if this is the largest I can go without rubbing.

I don't know if you will find a definitive answer.
The stock size 205/50 r16 rubs ever so slightly in the rear on mine.
Going to 215 will increase width, however 45 series tire will decrease height. So it's a possibility you can get away with it.
You should just give it a shot and see if it works
BTW, that is the size I'd like to run on mine next.....what tires you looking at?

First remember that wider is NOT always better.
Wider tires dont always increase traction, they can reduce it as well.
Doubt you need more traction anyways with AWD, if anything get an LSD to fix traction issues
215 45 16 is the tire to be used with 16x7 wheels. Too wide for the WRX wheels at 6.5 wide. Unless you want a specific tire that is only available in that size just go purchase the right size and be done with it. 205 50 16
I know 215 45 16 will fit with a wheel that has less offset, I know because I have some Falken Azenis in that size on one of my cars.

yeah i agree with ciper...
I think that size would work best with my wheels 16x7 with 45 offset.
QuickDrive, nope they're 16's.

Yeah, bigger tires than you need just beats on the suspension, cost more, and create more aero drag and friction. Sometimes you want to be able to unstick the car a bit.

Rota Slipstreams 16x7, 48mm offset and ONLY 13 POUNDS!
Inexpensive and easy to find.
I used 215 45 16 falkens and they fit fine on my 90 wagon. Compared to the 16x7 RS wheels it is a 20 pound reduction in rotational weight!
Search on Nasioc for slipstream and you will see what I mean. If you are worried about strength you should realize that a good number of higher powered subaru use these for autocross wheels!
