Unhooking the coolant temp sensor shouldn't make a difference if you don't have spark, but you could give it a try.

I don't really see how you can have juice to the coil and it not working unless the coil is dead. I know you said you tested it, but have you tried another coil?

Well after weeks of frustration, I took the car down the road to a mechanic, just now called me back and said the timing belt had broke. Gahhh, sooo now, mechanic quoted me at 4 hours of labor plus 620 for parts. Parts being "hydraulic tensioner, timing belt, tensionser pulley, idler pulley, hydraulic dampener, water pump, gasket, and cam seals. Is 600 a little steep for parts? I see a lot of kits on ebay, but im not sure if I trust their quality. Also, all the kits are listed for the ej22, I assume the ej22t uses the same kit? Thanks everyone for your help.

Is he using Subaru parts or generic parts? 600 might be a little high, but that's a lot of stuff besides the timing belt.

The water pump is different between the turbo & non-turbo cars.
