I need to repair rust on the inside corners of the trunk sill. Just imagine the piece of metal that you see under the front edge of the trunklid in either corner. I have some rust through in this area which I'd like to repair with metal. I will show you pictures of what I'm talking about.

The area under the trunklid just under the corners is the part that is rusted through. If yours are good and you're willing to cut them out, I'd be willing to buy them. Easiest way to get it is to make one cut on either side and pull whole piece that surrounds bottom of rear window. Otherwise, does anybody sell a patch panel for this?

Honestly....If you can find a first gen legacy in a local junk yard I think the cheapest and easiest solution is to get a used trunk lid from and swap it.

Re: Rust repair on trunk /rear window sill. Need patch pane
If only it was that easy. Actually, I got lucky with this car. no body panels, including trunk lid, have any rust through or bubbling anywhere. The rear quarters, front fenders, and consequently all wheel arches are completely free of ANY rust. The rocker panels and lower doors are also TOTALLY devoid of rust. In addition, it's all metal, no filler. It has the original paint, and has not one ding or dent. Unfortunately, however, it does have these two challenging spots in the trunk sill, in addition to the rust starting to form around the sunroof. I will post two pictures I just took to illustrate the spots I'm talking about.

Again, these are the corners just under the rear window that are covered up by the trunk lid when it is closed. As you can see these corners lie right next to where the hinge of the trunk lid is located. They also lie to the rear outer corners of the package shelf inside the car. This is all part of the panel, where the rear speakers are mounted. This is what I'm looking for. I have a capable body man who can weld these pieces in for me if I can find them. Does anybody here have any experience repairing this area or having it repaired? How was it repaired and how did it hold up?

Ahh ok. I thought you were talking about the actual trunk lid itself. Yeah....what you are looking at is a bit more involved.
There's a guy in Dallas that is parting out a t-legacy. He may be willing to chop the pieces off you need. He's got a post in the parts shed.
