Post auto to auto swap issue.

Post by Danny-G »

My friend and I finished swapping the slipping awd trans out of his 93 l for a last known to be working fwd trans from a 94 l and his wagon won't move or even go into gear. The power light is flashing, we haven't pulled the code yet. I'm completely lost as to why it doesn't move. The only thing I can think of is the awd tcu is freaking out since there's no duty c solenoid.

I would definitely suggest pulling the TCU codes. Yeah, the fact the TCU's are different may be an issue, but I would think the car would move.

Are you sure you have enough trans fluid in? Was the torque converter shaft seated properly on the FWD trans.

The fwd is still full of fluid and he had a trans shop put the torque converter on. We'll pull the code in a bit.
