Valve Cover Breathers

Post by Benderama »

I am going to start modding on my new Legacy SS, and my first plan was to get rid of my dilapidated intake track. I want to just build a custom intake using off the shelf stuff that I can modify to get the fitment right. I noticed on the intake there was two PCV (I am assuming there purpose) lines the run from the top of each valve cover into the pre-turbo intake. My question is would it be ok to remove them and just add a little breather filter like on old hot rods? This would simplify my intake greatly and save lots of space under the hood!

I would not recommend it.

Check out this thread for more PCV system info.
