Ohh man that SS is HOT! What are your impressions about all the go-faster bits you've recently put on?

Oh, the go-fast bits feel gooood. But now I want a 5 spd, i hate the auto. The car is a total highway crusier, love getting into 3rd and just putting the throttle down and watching the boost gauge move up as the peddle increases. Then wow, triple didgets, better slow it down. For sure need a MBC and a 5 spd, no doubt about that.

Well, picked the car up on monday from NC and drove it home. No problems for the most part except a screw (set screw) on top of the throttle body backed itself out so I had to pull over a couple times to rig something up. Still not sure wat it is, never seen it mentioned. Got the car up to 125 so I know the new turbo and top mount are a solid upgrade. Also it has a MBC with PSI set to 10-11 before fuel cut.
Another note those top end pulls I think were to much for the radiator and it will leak at high pressure. So since I am getting a 5mt in about a week I will be ditching the radiator anyway and need to find out what I should run?

A brand new OEM radiator! Seriously, they can handle what you can throw at it, and handle 15+ years to boot.

In case you haven't found your answer; The turbo cars lower rad mount is lower on the core support and have a taller rad. A non-turbo rad will fit a turbo car but a gap will be present between the top of the rad and the mounts.

Its the side pieces of metal that attach the lower suppout to the frame rails. The support itself is the same. I have a brand new one sitting in my garage

Well, it's that time again and she is in the garage for a while as I am finally putting a 5 speed in her. Spent 2 days on it so far by myself and making good progress. Everything is completely caked in oil muck but it makes things easier to remove so not complaining to much. The hardest part so far was the damn torque converter drive plate bolts but I went to Autozone and got a flex head driver. A must for the tool box.
Right now getting ready to remove the drive axles and then I'll be ready to drop the transmission. There will be lots of cleaning to be done once it is out. Also will be putting in a new down pipe and the JDM TD04.
Can't wait to row the gears on this old girl. Still need to get a clutch and pedal set so it will probably take me about a month to finish and I am debating getting a WRX harness and putting that in so I can tune.

So the Auto transmission is finally out and holy shit is that thing heavy. Makes me excited for the weight savings. Not much more will go on till after X-Mas. Just a lot of cleaning and deciding what new parts I want to get. Thinking engine mounts as I can move the whole engine with ease. Need a clutch. Might need a new rear main seal.

Hopefully that auto will be put to good use - that was the smoothest shifting tranny I've driven in a while.
