dohc swap issues
i have a engine i am working on for my ss and i don't have the correct spark plug wires for the heads and the older style coil pack, but i have the new style one will that work. also i am trying to fit the injectors from the ej22t in the 25d intake and it does not appear to fit in the 25 fuel rails and the 22t fuel rails don't bolt up too the heads.
any info would be a great help thanks

You can run the STi 550 cc side feeds or the JDM 440 cc side feeds in the 25D fuel rails. Go for 440 gray tops if you have no way to tune, otherwise jump up to 550 cc or bigger.

Not clear on your issues w/the spark plug wires coil pack??
You can use your EJ22T coil pack w/the 'early '96-97 wires such as these:

If you have the '97+ style like this:

You need these wires (note the coil ends):

I also recommend you read the 'unspoken details' thread above for more info.
I believe this is incorrect, as I've read where the gray top side-feed 440's/450cc will fit in the EJ22T rails, but not the yellow top side-feed 550's/525cc, which require the '92+ 2.2 rails on the SOHC...this would indicate the 440's and 550's don't interchange.
For the DOHC, you need the JDM 440 or JDM 480 rails; the 550's can use the EJ25D DOHC rails. Hopefully, you're doing the Rob Tune to take full advantage of your engine upgrade.

so hear is the current situation with the legacy, about 2 weeks ago i bought a 91 ss from craigslist for junk (300 dollar car LoL lucky me !) ... i have a 94 ss i bought a few years ago with the intentions of fixing it up for a dd, but the cars auto and she's got lots of issues. Problem for me is that i was expecting a parts car but i want that to happen hear. i am broke as a joke atm so i need to get things going a cheap as possible but the car is 1.5 hrs away and the valves are bent from a time belt failure. i put this engine together and atm i dont have the funds to buy any parts i have tons of subaru bits kicking around tho. i am going to bring a buddy with me and install where the car sits and drive it home, but its been sitting for the past 8 years in the last owners garage and i can't drive there more then 2 twice i figure.
i have a 04 sti and a wrx motor's kicking around will the injectors work from these cars
i have the 22t fuel rails but the dont seem to have a good way to fasten down to the heads
can i just wire up the new style coil in place of the old one.

Up to and including 1996, the EJ22 is non-interference. If the timing belt broke there will be no valve damage. Just throw a new t-belt on it and you are good to go.

just seems like something not right in there cam gears turn different then what i am used to (ive turned many) and when the belt installed the motor stops after a complete revolution but i can turn crank and cams without the belt like the valves are hitting the pistons or something -- hell idk i could be wrong ive just never had a motor act like that and with the belt thing .......

i also have the new motor ready to go and it has 200k less miles on the short block (2000 ej22 40k) 98 25d heads where i pulled all the valves out and cleaned up the seats and also have lash on every valve within spec. i feel like thats the way to go ive installed plenty of motors and can do it in about 4-6 hours with a helper but there are a lot of issues atm

For some reason I thought the gray top 440cc were the STi style. It's been a while and I'm losing my mind, sorry.
If the WRX and STi motors you are referring to having access to are USDM, then you can use the STi fuel injector but you have to get a set of rails for the heads (25D fuel rails). The WRX is top feed from 02-05, and I think side feed on 06-07 (not 100% sure on that).

The STi injectors will work in the EJ25D rails if you have engine management to deal with the 550cc flow rate. The stock EJ22t ECU will not run well if at all with those injectors since it is calibrated for 370cc injectors.

According to NASIOC the '06-'07 were 560cc Top Feeds - read it HERE.

Also, the STi yellow side-feeds were an '04-'06 version, per these DW injectors (same style, just modded). In '07 they went top feed, too.
And per this SITE:
Please note that these {side-feeds} are for 2004-2006 STI models only; 02-07 WRXs & 2007 STIs use top-feed injectors.
And for reference the '04-'06 Forester XT and Baja Turbo, '05-'06 Outback XT used the yellow side-feed '550's', too.

i placed a order on ebay uk for a set of 440 injectors and a ecu from a 93 ra. i guess my new place is to get it going and build from there i am hoping to run this set up for the winter and then switch to the 550 rob tune. i have a vf39 turbo that i am going to be using with this. I figure its going to be about 2 weeks before progress, looking forward to it

k guys i moved my car to my buddies house - placed the motor in the engine bay on Friday and the goal for tomorrow is to
1. get the intake manifold installed (if i can find my crossover pipe gaskets LoL)
2. wire in a coil conversion harness that i made over the weekend at work
3. install my new fuel pump
I have a few question's if anyone has any info that would be a great help
A) i bought a silicone turbo intake tube used from 07 wrx -- i was planing on pluming out from that to the jecs maf sensor but i seems like its to tight of a fit under the intake i did see that the ej20g silicone tube was smaller for that style idk if anyone could post a picture of there setup just looking solution
B) with my motor combo it seems that my compression ratio is 9:1 is it safe to shoot for the Rob's 550 tune ?

You should ask rob directly about that compression ratio. His off the shelf tune may be to aggressive for it, and Iknow he's commented on 9:1 setups in the past.

Take a picture of what you're trying to do with your intake and post it. You may have to do some bending of the fuel rails to make the intake tube fit under there. It'd probably be easier to get some manifold spacers tho. I know you're trying to budget, but it's kind of hard to do with this swap.
You may also get lucky and find a phase 1 dohc intake manifold specifically designed for under the manifold air flow. I've seen a couple lately on ebay. Kinda spendy tho.
