Exhaust tempatures

Hi,

Wondering what kind of tempature's are to be expected for the air going from the Turbo to the intercooler.

The reason i ask is i was on a scene last night [i'm a fire fighter]. It was a tipped diesel truck and we had to pump it out before writing it.

I was holding the sucker hose, and it said 150psi on it.. and it's a vacuum hose.. and it's flexable.. see where i'm going ?

So if that hose stuff can take the temp's it's a perfect candidate for my saab 900 project. It's about 10$ a foot and won't collapse under suction.

just need a metal section to mig weld in a bung for the DV and i'm good to go. Sould make for a nice clean istall.

FYI, it's commonly called "Fuel delivery hose"

I've used radiator hose... I would expect fuel delivery hose to be fine too.

As an off-hand guess I'd say temperatures shouldn't get much higher than 250-300 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperatures are high, but it's not like you're pumping solvents through it.

thanks ben.. maybe some day i'll be back to visit..

2 to 3 hunderd degree's works out to between 90 and 140 celious which isn't all that hot.

this stuff should work perfectly.

Share the love! Where do you purchase it and at what angle can it bend?

Couldnt it also be used for radiator/coolant hose?

hrmm, i'd say it could do a 90 with a 1 foot or less radius.. in a 2+ inch diamater hose..

for 2 inch dia. the material is about 1/4 inch think..

you can buy it as shops that specialize in heavy machinery , or hydraulics.

i'm personally very inexperienced, so i can not comment to say if it would be suitable for a radiator.
