Spontaneous turn signal issue.

Post by aaronllewellyn »

The car's a 1990 Subaru legacy SS sedan

I just got a gauge cluster out of a 1994 legacy wagon to replace the broken one in the 1990 sedan, the previous owner had broken the fuel and coolant temp gauge when he installed an eBay white faced gauge kit, so I figured swapping one out would be simple as it gets, it was, everything worked (thank god), I screwed everything back in and now my turn signals don't work.

What could be making my turn signals not work, not at all whatsoever, no click no arrow on the cluster, nothing.

could there be an electrical difference in the 94 gauge cluster that's disabled my turn signal? or perhaps a wire.

I would love any input.

You probably forgot to plug the hazard switch back in behind the cluster surround.

Saw this car on craigslist for a long time in Seattle. it's red with red trim on gold wrx wheels? Also if it's a 1990 then it's swapped, 91' was the first year of the SS. I remember seeing that horrible white gauge face in the cluster... barf. Hopefully you turn it into something awesome! Looks like the previous owner was a bonehead.. made the car look like shit.
the guy who had the really low winestone SS on the corvette wheels

the body panels under the crappy red spray-over paint job are three different colors. it says it's a 1990 everywhere, even on the oil cap, the engine's relatively nice, it seems like its not original although (possibly because of a minimum of two front end collisions) the engine cant be original, its like new, clean as it gets. I really hope it's not original for mileage's sake. 127k on the OD

it is the same car, I bought it in Binghamton NY from the previous owners parents, apparently he moved to china or Korea with his wife to teach English. got it for $1200, which I suppose isn't a bad deal for a fairly rust free running turbo legacy. I've only put about $50 into it and it's inspectable, Just enough rubber on the tires to barely pass NY inspection.

It really really needs and alignment, to go straight you turn the wheel 30 degrees left, goes in a line otherwise.

After replacing the whole cluster, everything works. I'm happy about the boost gauge that reads stock boost levels thank god. I really wish I had some history on the car, it seems to have been purchased by the previous owner from a dealership Washington state last august then driven cross country.

Its future is bright.

Wow, I can't believe that was transported all the way to NY... I saw the local craigslist ad quite a bit here.
