Power steering squeal / whine / tone

Post by free5ty1e »

So, my fiancee now has a 93 L wagon, and we notice a high pitched metallic tone that appears to be coming from the power steering pulley. I have a video somewhere I took I just gotta find it.

Anyone have any experience here with an educated guess? Is this something I can help or just an impending failure I need to prepare for...?

Thanks!

If its the same it's the front bearing on the pump. I just replaced the pump with a spare that I had laying around.
