92 Legacy SS - Resurrected!
This is a very original 92 Legacy SS that has fairly low mileage (134k) but was driven with no maintenance for a long time. I am bringing it back to life. I bought it with a seized cam on the passenger side head and some body damage, not to mention the years and years of accumulated dirt and grime over the entire car. It is all stock except for seats from a '94 SS and an Exedy lightweight flywheel paired with a new Exedy clutch.
Here's the problems as purchased and related fixes:
Seized cam due to absolutely bungled timing belt job, replaced head/retimed and it runs great.
No locks worked on the entire car, removed all locks and cleaned/lubed/removed broken-off keys to make them all work.
Dented door replaced with junkyard winestone door.
Rear quarter window broken to get into the locked car at some point, replaced with junkyard rear quarter window.
Bad alternator and other minor stuff, replaced with good junkyard parts.
5-speed was shifting poorly, changed fluid and all is well (probably still had factory fluid, and was over a liter low!)
Stock stereo not working, replaced with 06 WRX 6-CD changer.
Power antenna broken, replaced with amplified under-dash antenna.
Sunroof taped up, needed resealed.
CV axles shot, one was original and the other had a torn boot, Replaced with new axles.
Problems left to fix:
Paint on hood and spoiler is no good, I will repaint them in the spring when the weather warms up.
When I first got it home, with the door dent.

Back on the bandwagon huh?

Couldn't pass it up for the price.
My wife drives the '99 and I missed having a Subaru.
I helped my buddy install a 4.44 JDM Forester transmission in my old '94 last weekend, further cementing my decision to not add any more power so the 5MT doesn't blow up.

2nd on that antenna. I want to can the stock one to clean things up, but was afraid the amp'd ones and such wouldn't work too well.

It does say "on-glass" but I've used it tucked behind the dash on two cars so far and both work well.

Is it the same color as your previous one? The previous one was brighter right?

This one is Winestone, my last one was Crimson Pearl.

Passed emissions with ridiculously low numbers.
Exactly what I expected since its a bone stock flawlessly running low-mileage car, but still nice to pass.

Replaced the CV axles this weekend and got an alignment, no more clicking axles!
Also, I replaced the quarter window that was broken out and resealed the sunroof, bringing to light two new problems:
1. I need the quarter window outside trim now because this one is trashed, oh well, time for a junkyard trip.
2. I also need to find a sunroof control unit in the junkyard or alternatively solder new relays to mine. It takes a smack to the control unit sometimes to open/close the sunroof. This is a fairly common issue so my hopes of finding a good replacement are low.

Ive had that problem before, sometimes the ground gets rusted above the buttons on the shell of the sunroof.
On a side not, I gave mike tracy (i think) that chip from that 93 SS I yanked the engine from at pick n pull to give to you, do you still have it?

Re: 92 Legacy SS - Resurrected!
I cleaned the ground, it is fine. I'm pretty confident that a relay replacement will have me up and running on the sunroof.
Yes, I do still have that chip. I haven't had a chance to dump it and compare to a stock ECU dump yet though. I suspect it probably just has a minor revision difference, probably an optional TSB or something. Most likely emissions related I would guess.
EDIT: I checked AllData for TSBs and found this:

Was the car an auto transmission '92?
