Plastic emblem on tailgate(wagon)

Post by Paverdave »

I was washing my car(93 legacy wagon) and the emblem that says Subaru on the tailgate(red stripe) came off. It looks like it has some sort of adhesive on it. Do I just glue it on or what? Dave

Double sided tape you should be able to get at auto parts stores. They use it for emblems all the time. Works well.

It looks like i'll have to do some touck-up work with red Sharpie, then tape back on. Also on the roof rain gutter thats black is starting to peel off in spots-is there a fix thats good besides electrical tape. Thanks Dave in Tahoe.

not as far as i know. If you can figure one out that doesnt include sanding and painting it, i'd be down. about half of mine is chrome.

I seem to remember some people doing pretty good with a black permanent marker.

marker may be the best way as the auto body guys suggested it would not be the easiest thing to repaint. I believe its a semi-gloss paint, too, not a full gloss, but that's my guess. I never had the molding done since i spent enough as it was and mine's not really that bad at all yet.

Both the badges on my 92 wagon fell off. I think it happened when water got under the badges and then froze. One was completely missing and the other left a cardboard like residue. Now I have the cool "Debagged look"

i markered, then painted. The marker lated about 4 months. sand it down with 200 grit, then spray away. i did 1 coat, but if i had done more it would look really good. As it is, it is "acceptable" meaning nobody would notice if they're not looking. And nobody gives my car a second glance.

Did you use regular gloss black or is it semi-gloss?
