Everyone is allowed to call me lazy this week....

Post by Opie »

Well after 4 solid weekends and a few holidays working on the Legacy my wife finally had enough! :) She has banned me from working on cars this weekend! So instead of finishing up the last few things myself...I dropped the car off at the dealer to finish off my short list...

Today it's getting:
Timing Belt
Cam Seals
Upper Radiator Hose
water pump
reseal oil pump
alignment

they also called and said it needed which I approved:
rear timing belt cover Left side
timing belt cover seal
2 idler's
adjuster

and they are going to check out the rear inner CV boot that is leaking....hopefully they can throw a new boot on it!

Wife better not complain when I show her the bill!

1 O-ring
1 Super 3 Sealant
Timing Belt:

2 Idlers (noisey)
1 Adjuster (rusted, would not adjust)
1 Cam Gear (noisey)
2 bolts
Replace Water Pump:
1 Water Pump
1 Water Pump Gasket
1 Thermostat
1 Thermostat Gasket
Replace Upper Radiator Hose:

2 hose clamps
4 Wheel Alignment:

About $500 of that was parts I wasn't expecting to replace but turned out needing it...rear timing belt covers, idlers, adjuster & cam gear were bad...oh well

...bet the wife won't nag me for awhile about doing my own work on the cars! :p

Opie,

Would you mind posting the part #'s for all the parts that were replaced & the cost of them. I'm mainly interested in the timing belt info, not the axles.

thanks

SOA635019 - Super Three Sealant
Timing Belt Section:
13028AA102 - Timing Belt
13085AA010 - Idler CP Belt
13069AA037 - Idler CP Belt
13073AA142 - PT340292 Idler (x2)

D'oh! Owned by the new forum.

I think we need to tweak this new one. It allows "guests" to post, and there's no quick reply, either. :P

Thanks Opie,

I'll tweak the settings on this forum to not allow guests to post....I tweaked it on the other forums I believe.

forum is tweaked.

How come you didn't replace your tensioner? Any particular reason? I probably am not going to bother will all the foam seals and idler pullies.....

The super three sealant you put on the back of the oil pump to seal it up....correct? Any non-subaru stuff comparable? i.e. permatex something?
