Looks like it's going to cost over a grand just to use my 22t block. +.20 over pistons are 600 plus tax, bearings are 135 plus tax, oil pump is 129 plus tax and shipping. and I don't even know what machine work is going to cost.

There's a nasty scratch in this one cyl, this is the images from the 30psi cyl. the other three show signs of blow by. Either way a bore looks like it's highly recommended.

Also broke a cam cap bolt, so i'll have to drill and tap that. Grrr

Sooo...

Got "something" accomplished yesterday...

Cleaned up the garage, moved the legacy to the middle and started tearing the interior out seats, carpet, and dash. Also pulled half of the front harness. Might get some more done today. It's Sunday and I wanna go take the kiddo to get haircuts.

I need to find another WRX heater core since my wrx housing does not have one.

I've been reading a few detailed threads about swaps into GC imprezas, this is going to be quite a challenge. We'll see how it goes tho.

Trying to find a 38mm 2bolt EWG Uppipe so I can use my turbonetics ewg on this. I have options as far as headers, but I want to use the middle set.

Printed 16 pages of legacy wiring diagrams, and 83 pages of wrx wiring diagrams.

I dug out my new harness and started working on it.

Before i realized there was a section missing, I was looking at both ends, all the colored wires folded away from the black wires, and thinking maybe i can piece them back together if i look at the lengths and think puzzle pieces. Seemed like a good idea. So I'm looking at this thing for about an hour and a half and realize there's no driver's side radiator fan plug.

That's when I got a little dissatisfied...

I am in contact with the guy, we've already had some bad discussions because of the harness but we'll see how it goes when i get a new response back.

On another note, I think I may be switching to imgur. When I get in photobucket's site it just seems really slow and takes a bit to load my library. I go to imgur and it's showing me my pictures really fast. I know it's not my laptop because it was just purchased at the beginning of the month.

Here's some photos.

Decided to go back to photobucket, I don't like the imgur app. I can't upload to imgur from the gallery, seems odd...

Anyways, I was able to get the core support harness figured out. Found the radiator fan wiring and now my mind is at ease.

Installed the front harness today and started some soldering. I need to o get some more shrink wrap so I can finish and move on to the inside wiring.

Still need to get the heater box with a core, the box I have now will not help me because it's missing the core and 1 other piece.

When first fitting the harness, I noticed there's a large amount of extra wire. The cut the seller made actually helped in this situation. I had to shorten the wiring even tho there was already a section of it missing. Fitting the wiring to the fuse block was a major pita as well. I'm concerned how it's going to work out inside the car.

So are you just merging the two harnesses? Where are you making the breaks between the two harnesses?

I would recommend you keep note of where the breaks are and maybe even make some diagrams of how things are for future troubleshooting and diagnostic. That will help A LOT if you run into issues in the future.

Full 2002 wrx harness, it was cut at the radiator support, i patched it. Whole car harness is getting installed. Only merging is lights, doors, and sunroof.

Ok, how are you handling the difference in wiring/sensors between the two chassis. For example I know the WRX has fuel temp sensors and a few other stuff at the back of the car that the Legacy does not have.

Forgot to grab a shot of the 90% complete end result on the harness. I need to find some more plastic shielding for the harness. Might salvage some from this N/A harness I have.

Image

As far as the fuel sensors and stuff you were talking about Josh, I Think I may have to just swap tanks unless I can get some guidance from Jake or the other swapped SS...

I'm Not too worried about it at the moment, I'm not pushing myself to start the car next week. I still have a case half that needs a timesert on 1 head stud and need to get those halves decked. Heads too. This all has to happen after the wedding in July

Oh and I still need to put an engine together for the white car, it's not happy at all. 160-170 miles to a WHOLE tank, crank wobble from hell, keyway is widened and has a full tooth of timing play, even the 22MM crank bolt wobbles. It's time for a new crank.

I'd suggest going to Fry's Electronics for wiring loom. You can get it there in much larger quantities for much better pricing. I think there's a Fry's around the Southcenter area.

I thought someone tried to run a WRX tank and it didn't work out properly. But yeah, I guess do your homework and see what's the best option.

If I end up needing wire, i'll have to check them out. I like driving up there anyways. Southcenter mall is pretty nice. We usually make a day out of it and get lunch or dinner at The Bahama Breeze.
