Apexi Power FC questions
Hopefully anyone running this can answer a few questions I have....
Does it work with the '91 SS sensors? Specifically, I was wondering if it had issues with the aluminum-housing MAF sensor.
Is the commander the only way to tune it?
Does it require any sort of re-wiring to run properly?
I'm sure I will come up with a few more, but that's all I can think of right now.

That helps some.
Anyone put this in their LT?
Supposedly they have stopped producing this, so I will pick one up soon if it will work.

Re: Apexi Power FC questions
Bringing this back from the dead. I have questions regarding this as well. I just bought one(because the deal was way too good to pass up) and I have a hoard of parts just waiting to be shoved under the hood of my car. Including, but not limited to, JDM TD05H 16G top entry, top mount intercooler, TS dual port BOV w/full recirc, 600CC side feed injectors for EJ20G, STI fuel pump, TS MBC, A'PEXi Intake kit for EJ20G, 3" bellmouth DP modified for Legacy O2 Sensor fitment, Borla Hush 3" exhaust. I know I'll likely have to modify the ignition, but is there anything else I need to get this Power FC working with my car, and these parts?
Re: Apexi Power FC questions
Have you looked into robtune?

Re: Apexi Power FC questions
It's a moot point. I already have the power FC. I know the robtune is good. I have this.

To clarify, I have an EJ22T

Re: Apexi Power FC questions
The guy who built my ignition converter was/is using a powerFC, and incidentally tested my patch harness with it on his own car.
So yes, as a standalone, you can scale your powerfc to the components you have. It has no knock control last time I checked, so you might want to look into a J&S safeguard so you don't blow your engine up while learning to tune it! From my understanding the APC works with the plastic MAF from the factory, not the stock SS one.

Thanks for the info. Anything else I should know? Should I just switch to the jecs maf? Can I run speed density with the pfc instead? Also is it easier to just buy rob's coil conversion, rather than wire it myself?

Re: Apexi Power FC questions
I haven't looked into it personally, but I asked a local tuner (MPS, now out of business), and they said even with the datalogit, you can't access high resolution fuel tables and other stuff. They said the APC for the Nissan sr20 was way more advanced. I'm just rehashing what I heard, not personal experience.
The rob ignition converter is really the way to go, because if you buy a new patch harness and a few ignitors to make your own, you'll have spent twice the money. Now if you could find a used one already premade, the patch harness is more convenient if you want to change things up down the line.
I don't know if you 'have' to use the plastic Maf, and I've never heard of tuning with the MAP only on the APC. Sorry I don't have more info. Last time I looked into the apc, was when the revtronix chip was coming out, and I ended up buying the robtune which I love. Would like to have the flexibility of a standalone tho.

What is an APC? Is that the same as my power FC?
