Re: Need Help Vacuum Lines
Its been awhile since I posted......(got busy at work). So here is what I came up with to fix my vacuum line issue.
I guess I would call it a coffee can mod, but I used a short piece of stainless steel 3in. Bought some brass fittings to fit the hoses.

Drilled some holes, and got some taps together to fit the holes and threaded my new fittings in tight. It worked better then I expected!

I was going weld the brass to the stainless at work, but I could find the right rods to do the job, so I picked up some JB weld. It worked just fine...

Finished product...........

Threw some paint on there and called it good. Its raining outside today so I wont be installing it on the car yet (wish I had a garage!) but I will get some more photos up when I can.
I wont be able to test my mod until I get my coolent to cycle threw my engine properly. I drained it out to pull out the turbo for cleaning and to clean my IACV. So since I cant get it, Im going to take her in to the shop for a flush and a new thermostat. After that we will see how she runs! I hope better then ever!

I also picked up this bad boy for FREE! Thanks to my buddy....

Re: Need Help Vacuum Lines
Make sure you use a Subaru thermostat. Aftermarket thermostats do not work well in these engines.

Re: Need Help Vacuum Lines
So this is my car i just bought it back from tucker im one of the original owners of this car i helped build it it never used to run like this the idle constantly stays at 1200 rpms after warmed up I have replaced the coolant temp sensor it idles completely perfect until it warms up all the way the problem was intake manifold leak sprayed starter fluid found that out the other day im getting it fixed would this be why car is running poorly mpgs are like 10 and the fueling issue tucker was talking about is because of the intake manifold leak so ive been told. Its thrown off all the afrs boost is still escaping. it has a wrx fuel pump so theirs no way its a fueling issue. ive personally seen this car in action when it runs good and it used to get up and go now its like you have to ease into boost because itll bog down and barely accelerate today i was on the free way in 4th gear i punched it and all you can here is turbo spooling and no acceleration im really hoping the intake manifold leak will fix my problems if anyone has any advice lemme know and the only reason i told him to do an apexi is because then you can control more of the fueling and throttle and i was told that by my tuner since we have no plug n play option ecu for our leggys anyways if i cant get this idle fixed and what not my last resort is to buy vf11 and go back to stock until i can afford to fully build the motor

Re: Need Help Vacuum Lines
Do you suspect the intake manifold gaskets or do you think the manifold is cracked?
Intake leaks will definitely kill mileage.

Re: Need Help Vacuum Lines
It's the gaskets it's only on passenger side and down below my injectors I sprayed starter fluid and that want only spot where my idle changed and car actually died

Re: Need Help Vacuum Lines
Yeah, it's time for new gaskets. disconnect your battery while doing them so the ecu will reset, then drive her normal for a few days.
