What the hell? Its marketed as an energy bar for athletes.

Here is one review "Combining the power of ostriches with a healthy dose of Dada, Ostrim is 'America's #1 Sports Nutrition Meat Stick"
from http://www.mcsweeneys.net/links/newfood/

Here is the real page for the product http://www.protos-inc.com/

They even have different flavours like Natural, Teriyaki, BBQ, and Pepper.
I love the "Other Uses" page  http://www.protos-inc.com/other.htm

So it's like ostrich beef jerky. I heard ostrich is really good. It became prety popular in Europe during the mad cow scare when people were looking for alternatives to beef. I almost bought some at the grocery store, but it was too expensive for something I have no idea how to cook. It was dark purple in color. Nort very appetizing to see.

One of the things I love about ostrich is that it tastes almost exactly like beef, but it doesn't have near as much oil in it. . . kinda like kosher beef, if anyone's ever tried that.

Ostrich jerky tastes amazing. Non-oily, tastes fresh, and apparently digests pretty easily. :P

Buffalo rocks. My mom wont buy cow, so all the red meat we get in my house is buffalo. Higher in vitamins, and lower in fat than cow, and it tastes better

Buffalo is excellent. Probably more lbs meat/animal too. I'll have to find this ostrich jerky. Mmm jerky. Anyone know where to get venison commercially?

There is a special place in north Seattle that I believe will overnight in a chilled container to anywhere in the continental US. They carry virtually all exotic meats you can think of, venison included.
