new crankshaft sprocket

Post by Danteandsoob »

So a while back my crankshaft pulley got all messed up, fixed that. But I noticed that when I took everything off, that my crankshaft sprocket (the one that is used for timing) was worn out around where it lines up with the woodruff key. So I've been searching everywhere to find a new OEM one and this ad on ebay showed up: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/1315054568 ... =82&chn=ps and I was wondering if it would work. AFAIK, all forester and impreza engines from 1990 to 2003 were EJ enignes. Just trying to confirm this part will work with our engines.

I believe I just found the part here: https://www.subarupartsdepot.com/oem-subaru-parts.html as well.

EDIT: Yep, same part, answered my own question. Sorry for the unneeded post.

Just for confirmation, yes that's the correct part. The one you want has 7 tabs for the crankshaft position sensor. There's a newer style with 30-something tiny tabs that will not work.
