Those turbo forresters are pretty guick!
But not as quick as a turbo legacy
I was taking time after work (nobody came in today so I left early) to find a parking lot that hadn't been plowed yet. Most of the roads were already cleared around here (with not so much as some damp salt) so I figured I wouldn't have any luck.
While searching I came across a turbo forrester. I pulled up next to him at a light, looking his car over. He looked over at my car, I gave him a thumbs up . . . no response. Okay. I guess he's not one of those friendly subaru guys.
The light turns green and he TAKES off. He's about a car length ahead of me when I start making up ground by the top of second . . . slowly. We pull up at another light. He looks over, nods . . . I nod back.
The light changes and this time I'm ready. DEAD even through first, second I start CREEPING. Third, I start walking away. Fourth would've been murder for him! lol!
We slowed down and I rolled down my window. He did the same. The guy yells out "you live in Falls Church?" I'm like, "no, but I head down there alot." He replies, "I see your car there all the time. Tight ride!!"
This is the first time I've gotten to see one of those new 2.5ts in action. Not too shabby. Luckily for me, I got all of the problems ironed out with my car. But even if I hadn't beaten him, I would've been happy to know I got props from a "newer" subaru owner. The fact that I did pull on him is just icing on the cake

You got me. An auto perhaps? I've heard the same thing, which is why I posted. FWIW (and I know it's not much), Adam was speculating that this was a mid-high-13 sec car when he handed it over to me.

A Forester Turbo is a high 13-second car bone stock, Car and Driver tested it...
So you two are pretty close

I personally like the look of the older forresters better. But to each his/her own.
Lotsa work to be done before that can happen
My goal eventually would be to have this car run and beat a zo6 at the strip, with a rear seat full of groceries . . . just for the effect.Yukonart wrote:You can mod a Forrester XT to run low 12s or something. . . beat a Corvette at the dragstrip, and say to the owner:

junkie, just looking at your grocery list of mods, I know your car must be pretty damn quick. I was modeling my mod ladder after yours when I had my legacy. I honestly think that stock for stock you're at least as quick as a forester XT. and you still have a LOT of room to mod
IggDawg is cool.
