I am also interested in the answer to this question. I dont even know what you mean by COP conversion or convertor. :/
COP refers to "Coil on Plug" meaning, as offered in some variants of the ej20, that for each spark plug their is an individual coil that resides atop of it(4 total), with 4 individual channels at the ECU .
The ej22/t utilizes a wasted spark setup with a single pack the resides on the top of intake manifold with 4 plug wires lead to each spark plug, and has 2 channels at the ECU.
The conversion would be going from wasted spark to COP.

My recommendation, if you have the time and money, you should make the COP conversion, as it is said to offer better spark.
Their are several good write ups on here with how-to explanation.

My plan was to do the COP but is that the only wiring I need to fix. I know I'll need to extend some as well but ECU wise?

Ahhh, ok I see. Its been quite some time since I read about it, but from what I remember (which is spotty) if I were to swap over the original intake manifold from my EJ22 I wouldnt have to change the wiring from the harness. Am I mistaken?

What does the COP conversion entail?

Nice! I took my pedals out of the box yesterday, I need to clean them up and paint black. How much of a pain was it to install the pedal set?

Boom pedals are in
Image
They were a pain but it helped to have the full dash and column out.I loosened the harness on top that is ran under the cluster pulled it up and put a pipe under it to keep it from falling while I pushed up on the pedals to line up the mounting bolts. I did get every bolt to fit though

Good looking pup! Yeah I prefer to swap pedals with the column unbolted. Makes life so much easier. Sorry you didn't make the middle of the month finish goal.

Ya I still firmly believe I could have got her running by then but we decided a couple hours ago that we didn't want have to do anything twice so we are going to do the COP conversion now and clean up the engine bay and paint it black instead of trying to clean it up later just to get it to the show.

Which tranny is that? I hope you don't need an engine hoist to move it about ;)

Regular 5 speed. I was draining it, plus I was sick of lifting it every time I needed it moved. The 4EAT on the other hand is a beast

Nice! I was considering putting the trans in by itself before I get the motor in, good idea or bad? Also reminds me I need a new crossmember because mine broke.

Cool, so thats not a bad idea? Figured I could get the tranny in and do everything needed for five speed swap before I put the motor in.

A parts washer works well and then I usually will hit any stubborn areas with brake cleaner.

Question, I cant seem to find the shift linkage/shifter assembly anywhere. What exactly do I need? Maybe I am looking in the wrong place or something.

As many of you can see my due date passed and she is unfinished. I decided to not cut any corners and do it right the first time. I hope to finish by the end of June. Show was this past weekend and was interrupted by snow. My buddies and I still got together and talked shop. Got to see each other's builds.
