Engine part question

Post by THAWA »

I know you can order a lot of crap from the dealer, most any part that came on the car to begin with. But my question is, what about the block? Can you order a brand new block, eg ej22t? I assume it would cost an arm and a leg, but I've been curious about this.

Part number 10103AA310 lists for around 1500 dollars. :)

so my next question is, if you were to do an engine swap with this block, what would it be considered, like what year? Would it be a 91, 94 or the year you put it in, like 04.
Also the rear lsd isn't all that elusive: http://www.subaruparts.com/cart/?pn=+27011AA131

It probably depends on what you get the dealer to write on the invoice. The same part number is listed for all years of turbo Legacy.

THAWA: It is, that yellow icon means they dont have it in stock and have to order from another dealer. Not too many spairs are laying around.

Besides, if you really wanted one Id sell mine for less than 1/4 that amount!

All that yellow icon means is "We don't have it in our stockroom but the number isn't listed as discontinued." There are plenty of non-discontinued parts that a dealer can't get. An example is the Select Monitor cartridge that works for all BC/BF Legacies. Presumably Subaru of Japan still has some, but they don't respond to requests from US dealers for them.

Naa I don't really need it, I dont really need the block either I was just curious, all in all though I think that's a good deal 1500 bucks for 0 miles and proven reliability.
