Big web used parts dealers
With my Steering rack problems I've been whining about in a different forum I've started to look around at different used parts websites. I put in a few requests at ones that didn't look terrifyingly sleazy and received a few quick quotes. I’d love to hear some of the forum members experiences with this kind of business.

Usually the search engine you are using just points to the random parts lots around the country, not some special used part web store.
Meaning if you didnt use the web site and drove to the place you could have bought the part just the same. Most of the parts places have been interconnected for a while.
I just watched a show about this, they used to have a part line deal where someone would yell an order over the phone and it would come out at all the other parts lots. Now they just use computers and the web search you use is in interface to it.

I've used www.car-parts.com to find a lot of replacement parts for my legacies. I've never had a problem, and even found a really good deal on a complete engine for my old GT!!
