Just bought this game because pre-face 1st gens are in it
Long story short, the game is SUPER fleshed out, and im really enjoying it so far. It is called "Touge no Densetsu", the US version is called "Tokyo Xtreme Racer: Drift 2". It is on PS2 and was released way back in 2005. it focuses on mountain road racing (hence touge), daytime you basically run time trials and try to get sponsors, nighttime you challenge other racers in carparks to races on different passes. its basically Initial D meets Forza.
From the title is sounds like a low budget racer but theres a lot going on for it. Customization/tuning exceeds even modern Forza titles, for instance if you buy an aftermarket ECU, you can tune the ROM, theres tutorials about different brands of parts for different engines, and even though im not very deep into it, there have been posts on the imaginary BBS (ingame) hinting that certain aftermarket brand parts work better/worse with others to make your car better/worse. i mean, in the options menu you can roll down your windows and it changes the sound effects. theres just a lot of oddball things this game does that i havent really seen since.
