I think the reason the threads got locked had more to do with the fact that they weren't providing any help. They weren't going anywhere at all.
From reading the threads you started, I think people have tried to help you out. People with useful knowledge about identifying Subaru engines have offered that knowledge. Others have expressed disbelief when reading your stoy; but, to be fair, you have to admit that you weren't fully aware of what was going on, so it's hard to take your facts at face value even if you are being honest.
I think we've mostly established that we have no idea what your engine is. Your Subaru mechanic made some judgements that seem hard to justify, and all we've seen are two blurry low-resolution pictures that cover only a small portion of the engine bay.
If you really want as much help as possible identifying the engine, take many high-resolution pictures of it, from as many angles as possible. Post them up so others can examine them.
What in particular do you need help with at the moment?

you mean APC?greg donovan wrote: im still mad that one of your first posts on a subaru board was bashing the company the board is about.

I thought we did pretty good considering the information provided. I recall an impossible set of circumstances surrounding your engine, that it was sohc, 2.2L, was sti, and twin turboed. Subaru never made an engine like that.
Plus, it didn't have a block number casting. I don't mean to call you a liar, but if Ra, Poseidon, Jimmy Carter, and Buddha said that engine was in your car, I would still question it. It just doesn't make any sense.
BTW, solely based on the way you've presented yourself on the board, i dont like you much.

greensubie, if I was a mod, I'd ban you and delete every thread pertaining to your situation...
It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out what's wrong. According to you, the engine they sent you is 1) not what you want and 2) does not have an engine code on it. RED ALERT! RED ALERT! Send the friggen thing back!! If they won't take it back, then sell it to some idiot who knows even less about the thing than you do. And get back as much money as you can, your parents would appreciate it
That's all the advice we can give you. We have yet to see any good pics of the engine, or the car it came out of. I don't know what you think this place is, but if it's not what you want it to be, then leave!! Your car doesn't even pertain to this forum anyway!!!

Its good that you're perceptive enough to motice, I didn't want to have to say it, ciper, but there's greensubie with APC and then you and your irrational love for the Scion. The good news is that I think we can help you.

well i think you have worn out your welcome here anyway, i would be happy to see you go, kids like you make me mad, and usually dont live long wiht a car like that. some of us have to work for our possessions, not get them given to us...learn to respect your subaru by learning everything you can about your car, dont come here with a chip on your shoulder and expect everyone to bend over backwards for you....i think your kind belongs in nasioc...personally i wont miss you. i smell cheese anyway, how can you have a car like you posted pics of (is it even your car?) and have a $20 digital camera, hell im broke more than i have money and i have a nice digital camera...bout time ya left.

Honestly I dont think anyone wasting my time is a funny situation at all. This guy is just a boob. Aparently he is used to doing nothing and getting everything he wants. OK every letter I type now is just contributing to my total time lost on this punk bitch.
