replacement transmission subaru legacy gx, 1993

I have a 1993 subaru legacy 2.2l ej22e van with a 5 speed manual transmission. Can I update a transmission from a 1998 legacy? Sorry if this topic has already been discussed in the forum, but in Medellin Colombia I have not been able to find another transmission that is similar to that of my old subaru.

Yes. It should bolt right up and you will be able to use your existing CV shafts.
'93, '93 and '94 Legacy L, wagons, FWD and AWD, all are NA 2.2 w/ 4EAT.
