Wheel color opinion!

Post by J-MoNeY »

So, I have a black 93 SS. I want to keep the stock wheels to maintain my "sleeper" status, but I find the silver droll. I'm thinking black or gold. I need some imput, or if someone is willing to "photoshop" some colors on the stock wheel then slap it on a black SS, that would be great. :D

So, your thinking black then? It does look quite good.

Honestly, I think you can put on any wheel and still maintain the "sleeper" look. Most people don't know what these cars are, and at least in my neck of the woods, with all the newer modded cars driving around, I hardly get any glances from people, even with my "bling bling" Gold RS wheels.

I parked my car at a local spot where a lot of the "car" guys (READ: ricers) happened to park their cars. Of course, there was this one guy with a B-series hatch that saw me getting into my car, and noticed the TEIN sticker on the window. His comment:

Why should a car like THAT have a TEIN sticker on it? Not like it's fast!!

I have 17" Gold Prodrive 7s on a White Subaru wagon that has rust, nobody but the most knowledgeable car guy gets it. With the car bouncing around on the cement roads, i'm suprised that i don't get pulled over for looking like some deviant, but i can get away with a lot just because the car looks stock otherwise.

Black on black looks good. It's different enough for the people you care about noticing to see, but subtle enough for everyone else to overlook.

boostjunkie: i can only imagine :D

Mark,
I was thinking that, actually. It is actually odd that I see as many SS's as I do around town. To bad the "pimped" out hondas don't want to give subie a run for her money.

Jason - Were you up in Rockville? My buddy get's a lot of slag for his 99 SHO. People point and laugh at the V8 badges. Then they get in their CRX's with muffler held up with a coat hanger.

Some people just don't get it.

I don't expect any problems with stock WRX wheels. No one will know the difference.
