I have done shock, but never struts. I don't want anything to fly off and kill me. Do I need a spring compressor? Any usefull tips?

Thanks!

I'd recomend spring compressors. It's better than getting a huge dent in your car, or even worse, your face. :) Struts are not hard to replace though, just takes being a bit careful. :)

if you dont have spring compressors, you can rent them from autozone, or buy a set of craftsman compressors from sears for the low low price of $39.99 plus tax

Someone apparently doesn't know that the bbs is attached to an actual website, with information!
