I heard a noise today...

Post by BAC5.2 »

Here she is. It was to cold and windy to wash my car this weekend (Boostjunkie, I tried calling you, but the phone was busy?), so I snagged a few pictures of it all salty.

My beloved 1994 Subaru Legacy Sport Sedan.

The only thing telling those around me what to fear...

By the end of the summer, she'll surprise a few people and turn a few heads.

I picked her up 2 weeks ago, 2/7/04. She has been sitting in my driveway since while I try to sell my 95 so I can pay it off.

I only get to drive it through the neighborhood :(.

The "Subaru" badge on the left fell off, so I'll have to replace it or something. I hate how we can't shave the emblems. I was going to shave both emblems and just leave it, but noooo.

I'm really growing acustom to the color :)

Hey man,

I was at my parent's place all weekend. In the sticks, no cell service:(

Nice looking car. I think you might be one of the only people on this board with that color turbo leg. I haven't seen one of those either.

It's cool man, I'll be home next weekend for the Mach V meet. We can meet up then, though my turbo won't be on the road. You're more than welcome to stop by and check it out.

Other than your car, I haven't seen a single Turbo around here (I saw a Touring Wagon ONCE, and it was white 4EAT).

I really need to find the production numbers by color. I wonder just how rare this color is? I thought it was green at first.

I thought the one I looked at was green, too, but when I went back a second time I realized it wasn't much different than the blue of my car.

As for production numbers - good luck. There are some really divergent numbers that people have turned up just for totals. Even Subaru's own numbers are suspect. I think finding real color data would be extremely unlikely or almost as dependable as making up a number... Which leads me to think... Quote me as a Subaru authority stating that color came on 7 sedans and 5 wagons. Sound good? Who the hell could dispute you? If they can and back it up, you may be able to find the truth!

Hmm, That sounds pretty good. Only 7 sedans sprayed in that color :).

I hope the body shop can get the original color when they repair the rust.

I thought the body shops mixed the colors according to the number (color code).

If they did that the painted parts would look wrong, color changes with age.

If they paint just part of the car they have to adjust the color to match the rest. I imagine it takes some experience as the paint usually changes color a little as it dries and that must be accounted for, also. They said the blue on mine on a previous partial repaint hardly had to be adjusted from the original in ten years, so I guess Subaru must use decent paint. I'm sure results with different colors and climates will vary.

Well I'll just ask the body shop when I take my wife's car in next week. I know that they have to blend the newly painted area into the old paint, but I'm not sure what that involves.

I need to get some rust fixed and the spoiler repainted so chances are, I'll have them just respray the whole car because I'll also need my lip and hood scoop (maybe on both of those) painted to match.

I need to call some body shops and see how much they are going to charge.

You betcha.

Seeing how rare this color is, it would be a disservice to the Sport Sedans everywhere to get rid of it.

Plus, the color is bad ass.
