My learner-mobile, ('89 corolla 5spd w/19" chromes hahah i'm joking, i swear. its bog standard) soon to be replaced by the mighty GX, and shits starting to break i hate it. so they're un-superglueable these levers i guess. on the corolla superglue is my friend

I've got a broken trunk release handle too, got a new lever from Subaru ($6 or so) and am trying to figure out how to get the damn assembly apart. Found a philips head screw up top, seemed to release the trunk lever/gas lever plastic cover but it seems theres no way to work it off... has anyone actually ever replaced either of these levers? Whats the trick, I don't want to snap another piece of plastic...

OK I'm an idiot. The handles slide forwards and off the metal levers. The bottom plastic cover piece doesn't have to come off, although I did eventually work it off. Damn brittle plastic. Almost broke my fuel tank opener in the process.
