Best Turbo out there?

Post by BAC5.2 »

Just curious what you guys think.

What's the best turbo in terms of driveability? Decent spool time, and all of that nonsense, as well as the highest yield in power.

It depends on how much air you need to flow.

We need to know the displacement, power level which leads to boost pressure.

Just curious what your guy's favorite turbos are.

If you want to look deep into my question, I'm looking for a turbo too ;)

Just trying to make my list of upgrades.

I'd think the "big" 16G would be a nice one. Sounds like there will be some adapting, but if you do custom piping with a front mount. :o

:D If you have the bucks, a Garrett GT28R (290 hp) or a GT28RS (350 hp) will work great. They completely spool by 3k rpm and blow alot more air than a T3/T4 setup. I ran the 28R on my NA 2.2 for a couple of years and am now upgrading to the RS. I run a 4EAT and was very pleased with the results. Just my opinion......Rod

I second the vote for a GT series turbo. However, they are a little pricey.

RTFM. Do some research, read the internet. If you don't know enough about turbos to make an informed decision on your own, then you don't know enough to properly place it in your car.

Someone elses favorite turbo may not be the best for your application. and certainly comparing max power versus drivability is something I find very entertaining.
