hi,
just found out my dash lights have given up the ghost, all the back lit gauges arnt anymore, this includes the fan speed and a/con switches ect. ive checked all fuses and they are fine. any ideas?

Maybe the illumination control unit is broken.
On US cars it's mounted to the right of the center console, to the left of the glove box.

havnt driven in the dark for a bit , but i do recall when i fitted my amp that i blew the fuse for the stereo, could this have caused the unit to give up?.

If you shorted one of the radio's illumination wires to one of the power rails, then maybe.

still stuck, might be my illumination control unit? i dont know what this is, so if anyone has some numbers of one so i can tell which relay looking thing it is i will check it out.

I don't have a part number handy but I can tell you that on US models it's a little black box with a 6-pin black connector plugged into it.
