I have 1994 subaru legacy L (no mods). For some reasons, the brake light kicks on sometimes even when I am driving. It will stay on until I turn off everything. The hand brake is in off position and the brake light still on. (The brake light is the red indicator on the dash board, not the brake light on the trunk).
Suggestions and replacement of brake (brands, rotors) are high recommended.
Also, where I can find performance parts for subaru legacy L 1994?

Brake problem...Brake lights on?

The brake light in my '91 Legacy L has changed operation, it now acts as a thermometer.
In cool conditions, it will light and remain lit indefinitely. If air temperatures are warm enough (~70F), the light usually doesn't appear. I checked the shop manuals, and it's either the brake fluid reservoir sensor (plenty of fluid there) or the parking brake switch.
I agree with the other posts - check your fluid level, that's the most likely cause.

Well, sometimes when the brake fluid is cold it can contract enough to trip the level sensor.
But, yeah, that light used to come on on my old Legacy whenever it was cold too, irrespective of the fluid level or handbrake position.
