ej25 heads - management

Post by shatowz »

alright, I just read a plethora of threads about this topic, perhaps too many :D

I'm finding myself even more confused as of now, however I have one question that I haven't seen anyone directly answer yet, if this has been adressed please point me in the direction of that thread-

when mounting ej25 intake manifold and heads onto ej22t block, are any engine managment modifications required?

I know that almost all the guy running the ej22t block in their 2.5RS have systems such as the Link+....
What modifications require the need of a replacement\piggyback system for the ECU? How much can you get away with doing without having to modify this system?

edit: also was planning on using my00-my01 RS parts, so map sensored intake mani and SOHC heads..
thanks so much...

I dont have any answers to those questions but this board is phpbb based, so you've gotta use bbcode on here to make something bold. It's basically what you're doing but with [ and ] instead of < and > Not sure if you really care just thought I'd let you know :D

Engine management is absolutely required. But first off, what are you driving? It helps us a lot if you put your car and your mods in your signature. My answer is going to be quite different if you are driving a 95 LEgacy than with a 98 2.5 rs than a 00 Outback. Also, what are you really trying to do? Your post is a little vague regarding your end goal...

actually i'm just trying to decide if it's worth it to put ej25 heads on the ej22t block...will be an ej22t in a 91-94 legacy, as i do not have the car yet, and my end goal is to get the answer of am i gonna have to drop down 1500 for a link or some other ECU replacement if I wanted to go this route? DIdn't think so, but really wasn't sure.

thanks much

do a search for "ej25 head" use the All term and search in the archive. There is some very good info in there.
