Subaru L gas mileage query

Post by Tleg93 »

I performed a search here and didn't turn up anything specifically having to do with my topic so I thought I'd ask. How much mileage should an average Subaru L get from a tank of gas. I usually drive in a fast fashion but even if I take it easy I'm getting just over 300 miles out of a tank of gas. Does that sound right? It doesn't really sound right to me so I thought I'd ask. I smell gas all the time when I get on it too.

shit....I barely get 212-220 out of a tank.

I'd get 300 if I was on the highway all the time though.....

I can get over 400 on the highway (30+ mpg)

In the city, maybe 380 or so...

This is with FWD, manual transmission, and a valve job.

I also drive spirited at times

My 95 L will get 30 going the speed limit on the highway.

Mixed city/highway (highway cruising speed of ~80), and winter gas, I usually get right around 25 if I don't hammer on it, and 22 if I drive the back roads.

Usually at 240 miles the needle is one empty and equals out to about 22-23 mpg. On open road highway driving I can get anywhere from 24-28 mpg.

Your numbers don't seem to bad to me.

I get a consistent 25mpg, mostly highway doing about 80, less if I beat on it.

275 miles with 1/8 tank left on the 95 right now. All highway, almost exclusively 80mph. 275 miles since Sunday.

I was pushing to get 300 a tank in my 92. A new air filter, cleaning up all the grounds, and a WRX muffler seem to have given me an extra 10-25 mi. And I drive around with a roof mounted bike rack on 24-7 because I'm too lazy to take it off, and the car looks funny with out it.
