child locks?

Post by vypa »

ive got a problem with the back passenger side door that im assuming is with the child lock.... you can open the door fine from the outside when its unlcoked... but cant open it from the inside... not really serious but id like it fixed since its a pain in the arse for someone to get outta the car to let them out... or to roll the window down and reach out
any thoughts?

yea, mine do that too, you have to hold the button down in the unlocked position when you pull the handle to get it to open. There is a fix for it on www.scoobymods.com that im sure you can find, me, ive had bigger issues to deal with regarding doors and havent taken care of it yet. Good luck.

Found the fix?

Post by ScottyS »

My first post....

I did a search for this problem as I have it too, with no results. Is this a common Legacy ailment? Does anyone have any fixes for this?

Scotty

PS---The forum has been VERY helpful so far. Thanks to all in advance for their time and talent.

Welcome Scotty, yes this is a very frequent Legacy problem, one I have yet to fix, but someone should chime in soon and say how they fixed it, maybe I'll use their advice to fix it myself, from what I gather, it can be fixed very easily but not prettily...

If it's the problem gary describes it's very easy to fix and works like a charm. I just used a paper clip and hooked the little spring and got it to where it should be, bent the paper clip against the backing plate, snipped it a little, and put the lock back on the door.

I did this for both my front drivers and passengers doors.
