Were fog lights ever a standard option on the Turbo Legacy?
All of the 92+ cars have the cut outs for the fogs, and that cover is just screwed on. Were there ever fog-lights in that housing?
Weird that there would be all provisions save wiring.

Nope, they were never an option. The OEM projector fog lights they put in the same bumper cover overseas won't fit in ours because our bumper beams are shaped differently.
There was a dealer-installed fog light option on early 1990 Legacies, but it was pretty rare and they were basically regular aftermarket rectangular reflector fog lights.

I've seen those cutouts and it looks like a set of PIAA/Hella small projector beam driving lights would fit. Do they make foglights that small?
Another option would be to go rally style, add a light bar, and attach a set of foglights to the bottom of the bumper, where the radiator opening is. Although that would limit your choice of intercoolers.
Which also brings up the idea of intercooling. You were planning on going FMIC, correct? You might have to delete any foglights you plan on putting in there to accomodate the intercooler.

I'm taking your advice and not going FMIC right now. I don't like the idea of a fender bender costing me $800 for a new smile.

There are plenty of aftermarket fogs that fit well into the holes. They won't completely fill the space but you won't notice unless you look really closely. Even then, it doesn't look bad; just not factory.

I guess you've had experiences driving around DC as well? Hehe. You should really look into Ciper's group buy for the AWIC. Functionally, especially given the size of the hoodscoop, it would be vastly superior than any top mount, provided you find a good heat exchanger and pump.BAC5.2 wrote:I'm taking your advice and not going FMIC right now.
