for a 92, 149k miles, light blue exterior, abs, sunroof, new tires...

How much would you pay?

Nothing wrong with it, no air noise from the windows or door handles that lock the door or droopy sun visors? Transmission shift well?

Touring wagon is turbo from what I remember, 3800

auto trans, i havent test driven it yet, they're asking $3600 obo, so i figured i'd offer 3k, and even if it needs work i'll feel justified spending some extra dough on it, what with the price i'd have paid for it

Touring wagon should be turbo auto. Didn't think they came in light blue, just a medium dark blue like BAC's sedan, but I could be wrong - I don't have a 92 brochure.

$3600 is worth it, I think, if it's all in good order. The price guides would say it's a little high but I don't think they do a good job of capturing the rarity of these cars.

Stuff to think about/ask about/look at:

What kind of new tires?
The engine idles smoothly and boosts up to 8.7 psi and holds it well?
Stuff looks stock under the hood?
Any service records (it'd be good to know if the clutch has been replaced and when the cambelt and water pump were last replaced)?
What condition is the suspension in?
Depending on where it's spent its life, how's the rust situation?

Stuff like that. Other threads where people asked about what to look for when buying a Legacy Turbo can also help.

it's automatic, if the suspension's toast, i'll get them to drop the price, i'm not really that concerned about the condition of it though, because my agx's and whitelines will be swapped over not long after the purchase of the car. I dont want it if it has rust on anything other than the hatch, that's an easy replacement, there's a bf of the same color in the yard right now. Now all i need to do is convince my mom that 149 thousand miles isnt alot for a 94

Don't let rusted front fenders bother you either - they're a lot easier a swap than the hatch.

Wait, is it a 92 or 94?

I paid $3400 total (minus taxes and tags) for my 94 Sedan, and I only have 95k.

The Aegean Blue Metallic (my color) was only available in 94 from what I have seen.

If you got it, we'd be the only 2 on this board that have the color I think.
2009 Outback 2.5XT. 5MT. Satin White Pearl.
2009 Impreza 2.5i Premium. Blue.

nope, i wish. it's the light blue that looks like a baby color. I confused myself, it's a 92. i should be wary of front end damage though, because the parts on the front of the car were turbo-specific(bumper, hood, etc)and hard to find, right?

Well, aside from the hood scoop, all the other differences are cosmetic.

Yeah, but it's all cosmetic. You can put non-turbo parts on a turbo.

You could even put a non-turbo hood scoop on a turbo, but the chimney wouldn't function right. :)

You do need to use wheels that clear the turbo brakes, which 14" steelies won't.
