Low Clicking/Rumbling when i press the gas

Post by LIFiero »

I have a 94 2.2l wagon and whenever I accelerate i hear this low clikcing/rumbling noise coming from the engine. Just lately it has gotten worse and i can hear it now when it is idleing too. Any ideas what it could be?

Sounds like a spun rod bearing to me. Probably because I spun one in October. I went ahead and pulled my engine for a complete rebuild after that. Given enough time (without fixing it) you will throw a rod, rendering your engine useless except for parts  . I wish I had better news for you.

But I could be wrong.

Might be a clogged oil passage.

The 95 did this for a while. An oil change and an italian tune up did the trick. I have a feeling that I got lucky though.
