Favorite Meal

Post by LaureltheQueen »

I'm trying to come up with things to make for dinner tonight. I have 2 classic meals that I'm awesome at making, or I could do something else, I'm always up for new ideas.

My 2 classics are...
Fettuccini alfredo, with homemade fettuccini, and homemade alfredo sauce, homemade garlic bread, and a caesar salad

Shrimp with chili sauce, and indian dish, utilizing the flavors of curry, but a little more americanized, over rice, with pooris and lasse

THe meat we have in our refrigerator is a chicken breast, some ground buffalo(much like beef) buffalo steaks, and lamb chops

Fettuccini alfredo is just macaroni and cheese for adults.

That said, I like Fettuccini alfredo. :)

The Fettuccini alfredo sounds good to me. Homemade everything eh, you don't find that too often. It's making me extremely hungry, gotta go.

I love Indian food, but not the speed at which it passes - its worse than beer!

How do you make lasses? I love those.

I'm not much of a cook unless it involves a grille, so I'm bad for suggestions.

they're just yogurt and coconut milk, and cardamom i think, it's been forever since i made them.

pooris come in boxes, you just throw them into a sautee pan with a tiny bit of oil and they poof up.

naan is my personal favorite, but i dont have a cool oven to make it with, so i cant. :(

French toast, yum. Bacon, yum. When it comes to meat, bacon is my weakness. Did you put toppings on your toast or just plain old maple syrup? This thread is making me hungry again.

Padishar Creel, aren't you a vegetarian? :)

There's a sandwich at one of the restaurants here in Ithaca called the Garden of Sin. It's a veggieburger with bacon.

Vrg or Vikash, whichever you prefer, you can call me Scott, if you like. Yes, I'm a vegetarian :) . I still crave bacon though once in while. The smell of bacon cooking makes my mouth water so it can be hard to refuse. Are you also a vegetarian?

Padishar Creel is a character in the Terry Brooks novel "Elfstones of Shannara" in case you wondered. I always use the names of characters in books so I remember my usernames in all of the sites I'm registered at. If I could change my ID here I would but, oh well.

Garden of Sin eh, that is kind of nutty to have a gardenburger with bacon, unless it's morningstar farms bacon.

Vikash is fine :). I read about where your username came from when I Googled it. :)

Yeah, I've been a vegetarian for maybe two years. I know what you mean about bacon, though... Image

How strict of vegetarians are you guys? I'm not by any means, I eat like a pig mostly :D

I can see going without a steak or fried chicken, but a strict one not even drinking milk or eating eggs would drive me nuts!

I'm pretty lax. I wouldn't call eggs and dairy forms of meat, and I do eat seafood.

I thought vegans were the ones that ate nothing but grass (no animal products or yeast, so all that leaves is grass). Have yet to see one grazing on my lawn. Shit, I don't have a lawn...

I'm a vagitarian and I eat meat with most things - vegetables always leave me feeling hungry no matter how physically full I am.

I've been a vegetarian for about 3 years now. I eat seafood also. I also drink milk, eat eggs, and cheese. I could never give up cheese. Especially Cabot's Hunter's seriously sharp. I think that Quorn products are the best I've had so far. If you've never tried them, Vikash, you ought to give em a try. It's scary how much like meat their stuff is. Avoid the hot dogs though. I think green giant makes one of those stir-fry kit meals just add chicken or beef. If you like stir-fry try using Quorn meat-free chicken tenders as a substitute, it's pretty good and fast too.
