Intersting tidbits bout the new Legacy

Post by LegacyT »

I had the chance at work to read up on the 05 legacy in a new technical document book. The intercooler is completely different from the familiar ones subaru has used since the beginning. Although the new Legacy will have a top mount, it's weird. On the passenger side is the inlet and bending down is the outlet on the drivers side. Situated on top of the outlet is the recirc-valve. Connecting the intercooler to the bottom of the intake manifold (yes bottom) is a small peice of intake plumbing. Also the intake manifold is now plastic (like the 04 TS). Subaru claims a 3 kg reduction in weight from an aluminum one. Also the exhaust header is very different from what we're used to on turbo cars. It virtually an equal length setup and very nice 8)
