91 Legacy (FWD) Wagon Lowering Springs.

Hi all

I have do some research and finally find this site and it included so many useful information on legacy. Anyway, I have done a search on this site and I still couldn't find any information regarding a 91 legacy (FWD) wagon lowering springs. I have found companies like whiteline/hr has lowering springs for AWD turbo wagon but not the FWD wagon like mine. Does any one knows or installed the lowering springs/sway bar and even shock on their 91 legacy (FWD) wagon. If so, where can I order a set of lowering springs? Thanks, in advance.

Whiteline is pretty much you're only bet, unless you want to change out the top strut mounts.

Talk to ciper. He's pretty much just got done swapping stuff on his 90 legacy wagon. The FWD models have a lowered strut mount piont, so depending on the spring, the rear end could sit too low.

Ciper would be your best bet for info on the wagons and stuff.

Finally got an email from whiteline and here are what the reply to me:

"Thank you for your interest in our Whiteline products.

We list springs for our wagon as follows:

Front: 70198, and

Rear: 70369 - with the following catalogue notation (15)

Note 15: Check top and bottom ID of original spring. If top = 125mm
and bottom = 141mm, use 70369. If top = 95mm and bottom = 138 mm use
70368"

According to whiteline, I need to check the size of the reat springs. Does anyone know if I can tell what the spring size without taking out my shock? Or is there a different spring size on wagon or sedan? Thanks in advance.

Just get your hands in there with a ruler and measure.

You may need to jack up one of the rear corners to get access to it easier....but that's easy. Just put the ruler as near to the center of the strut body as you can and take a measurement at the bottom, and at the top.

The numbers may not be exactly what he gave you, but there should be a similar trend.

Most likely you will need the 70368 springs since you have a 91....but double check.
