Nonexistant Car?

Post by LaureltheQueen »

Okay... So I'm a bit confused. earlier last week I plugged 92 subaru touring wagon le into www.edmunds.com, and it pulled up the touring wagon, but all of the specs i got were for an N/A legacy. I figured it was just a screwup on behalf of the website, until they tried to pull my car up at work. When they were entering the information in for my car, they didnt even have it available as an option to choose, he had to go under 1993 to find any touring wagons... anyone else encounter this problem?

Well, Geico couldn't find a turbo legacy in their database so I was insured under a n/a legacy . . . with the turbo legacy VIN. LOL!

Sweet!

I wonder if I could then hope for the same thing to happen to my STi in a few years. Some N/A rates would kick ass! :P

Hehe. I think that STi would be a little too popular for people to not recognize it.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I read somewhere that the 92 Touring Wagon wasn't made available until the very end of the model year and that "LE" stands for limited edition. I checked my 92 Legacy brochure and it only lists the Sport Sedan...no Touring Wagon.

I wouldn't say your car is non-exsistant...just extremely rare  ...I only know of one other 92 Touring Wagon.

92 had a VERY limited run as I understand it. They weren't fully released until 93.

The only other 92 Touring Wagon I've ever seen was the Silver one my mom had (bought it new).
2009 Outback 2.5XT. 5MT. Satin White Pearl.
2009 Impreza 2.5i Premium. Blue.

What is your production number (in the VIN)?

You've probably got one of the very first Touring Wagons to be released!
2009 Outback 2.5XT. 5MT. Satin White Pearl.
2009 Impreza 2.5i Premium. Blue.

There's a thread on this board about coding VIN's (search ashtray posts made by me, term "VIN" and it will probably come up).

I can't recall exactly but there should be like 5 numbers after the chassis code (in your case BF). Those 5 numbers are your production number.

Mine, for example, is 00022 (22nd Legacy Sedan in 94. Not necessarily the 22nd Turbo Legacy, but the 22nd Legacy for sure)
2009 Outback 2.5XT. 5MT. Satin White Pearl.
2009 Impreza 2.5i Premium. Blue.
