Say Josh (Legacy777) . . .

Post by 93Leg-c »

I was checking out some of your posts in different threads and noticed that in the pics of your car before you installed the turbo hood your front end sits higher than in the pics when your turbo hood is installed. I was looking at the gap above your front tires and the bottom of the fender lip. Did you install the Whitelines sometime before taking the pics with the turbo hood installed?

I ask because, if you may recall, I was trying to figure out how to get my front end lowered to the original height (or a little lower would be okay, too). The GR-2s make my front end sit higher than in the pics of your car with the stock hood and if the Whitelines will get it down to where yours sits now, then I need to save up for that suspension upgrade (or, is it downgrade? :))

ummm.....i did the springs and everything in november of 02. The hood was on in feb-march 03 time frame.

So it may be an elusion......the car does sit lower. I've got the before an after numbers some where, but I think it was like 1.5" in front and 1" in the rear.

I can post some info to help you try and compare your height and everything against mine before and after......but it'll have to wait until i get home.

Everything you want to know and more can be found in the following links ;)

The first is an excel file I made up with all my susp info and what the before and after heights and such were

http://www.main.experiencetherave.com/s ... _Setup.xls

The following scans are from the 1990, 1992 & 1994 fsm's. (1992 & 1993 have no changes)

Be aware that the 90 fsm info is most likely correct because a mechanic actually used that set and kept it up to date. There is also descrepencies between the 92-93 MY's and the 94 MY's. So I'm not sure if things changed or the books are wrong.

Thanks, Josh! If I read the mechanic's notes right, it seems that you used the same struts but just changed to the Whiteline springs, right? If so, it brought your car down lower where I would like my car to be. BTW, your car really looks sharp!

By same struts....do you mean kyb gr2 struts? If so, then yes, that's what I used.

Just changing to the whitelines will drop the car. Whiteline has changed their part # structure, so apparently the ones I have may be the flatout springs vs the control springs. Check out whiteline's application pdf, and email them for clarification.

Thanks for the compliments on the car.
