Hood scoop problems...

I tried to remove my scoop this afternoon and ran into a problem.

When trying to unscrew the scoop, the stud spins with the nut.

Any insight? Is my tiredness (got off work at 5am) making me overlook something?

Can you hold the stud end with a pair of vise grips while turning the nut with a wrench?

when the guys put my hood on.....they had to deal with this.....and I believe they did the vise grip method.....and used some form of epoxy or something to put the bolt back in there and hold it.

I had to cut a couple of them off, i used a grinder and the stud got hot enough that it just melted itself out of the hoodscoop

I was thinking about slotting the end and using a screwdriver to keep it still.

Now that the car will be on the street, I need to get this fixed ASAP

This also happened to me when I was measuring for a custom scoop. I had one spinning. SO, ( this sounds bad) I grabbed it and yanked. the nut came out of the scoop and stayed on the underhood side.

But no damage anywhere. So I put a little gooey stuff in it when I re-installed to keep it there.

I tried the vice grips and other things with another person for help. NO GO. SO I figure since its just one, I would just let it sit. Otherwise, why not get some threaded studs and glue one end on and get nuts to go with it.
