Just sitting here enjoying a Rogue Ale's Chocolate Stout and it's so damn good I just thought I'd share. Usually it'd be a Shakespearean Stout but I gotta say, the Chocolate's damn nice too!

What other fine spirits are being had this evening?

Sometimes, I'm not a big wine drinker but I can enjoy a nice glass (or bottle depending on the situation

) from time to time. I like wet wines and blushes best. Real dry wines don't do much for my pallet. Why do you ask? Do you have some home brew or something?

I have a basement full of home brew

. My grandfather owned a vinyard in Damascus. Grew our own grapes, stomped them ourselfves. Pressed them in our own press. Fermented it in our own bigass jugs. Bottled it in our own bottles. From vine to label.

I've been thinkin' about getting back into Brewin' beer again myself. I used to help a friend every once and a while (mainly to move the pot from the stove to the bathtub) and it was a lot of fun. We made some pretty good brew too.

We made beer too, but it wasn't very good (I don't remember). The wine, however, I find to be very good. Slightly tart, but it contrasts well with high-starch foods that us italians like to eat so much

Forget the Italian food, my brother in law brings home that stuff all the time - send me an Italian woman.

The habanero pepper beer we made was done last week... Not good. Drinking it was fine until you swallowed and the heat went up your nose. Who'd have thought habanero and beer flavor wouldn't mix, either? Ok for shots, but we're making a BBQ marinade out of it. Maybe catch some eel and cook it up...

Try it first. That's what I said when I was a kid and the Portuguese people would catch them on Winter Island, but it's good. Was a staple here along with cod a few hundred years ago. One of the first things the hapless Indians taught the miserable Pilgrims to eat.
