You rinsed it? With water?

well, I cleaned it with alcohol, and then dripped some water after it was messing up in hopes the alcohol was on it.
I dunno...paid today...so late next week.
Also, will one off a auto trans. be the same as on a manual? I don't think it'd matter, but I just want to make sure.

The Manual and Automatic sensors ARE different to my knowledge. I tried replacing my 5MT sensor with an Automatic, which the junk dealer insisted would work, which i figured wouldnt since its a diff part number. And ofcourse it did not work, the car idled all over and stalled left and right and set off an ECU code about a wrong MAF type. The automatic one i belive also had an extra pin in the harness. this is based on my 91 legacy. i know the automatic sensor which is plastic appose to the metal one my car has is good for quite a few models as mentioned before but there is a diff between MT and AT.
BTW the alchohol probably would dry alot faster, cleaner and would be much better to rinse electronics with than water. I once spilled cerial + milk all over my open PC case. I was able to rinse the whole thing off with alchol and save my pc

the metal one was only used on 90-91 5mt's and 91-94 turbos, righy?

In 1990 and 1991 they were different. You have a 91, right? 90-91 non-turbo 5MTs and 91-94 turbos used a different sensor from all the rest. But in the years that mattocs is talking about, they're all the same.
I have rescued many electronic devices by soaking them in isopropanol, but I've also rescued many others by soaking them in deionized water. Any water other than deionized or maybe distilled is risky, though.
