So glad for Legacycentral

Post by evolutionmovement »

Was just on the Legacysti board and read this one thread that finally did it for me - I think I won't go back. Those people are so oversensitive and argue about such inane things. Nobody seems to have a sense of humor at all. They're like traumatized kids that freak out over every little thing. I wasn't involved at all with this particular thread, but it was enough for me just to read it.

A lot of other boards are full of assmonkeys with no knowledge or character.

But this board is great. Everyone here is helpful, courteous (without being dorks), and have good senses of humor. I know things I say can sometimes be taken out of context, but here I don't sem to get that. Even people I meet in person sometimes take me too seriously. I like to consider a lot of people here as friends and I really hope I can make the East Coast meet to run into some of you.

So, Cheers to all for being entertaining and informative.

Steve

yeah this board tends to have a pretty good attitude, and trouble makers tend to hit the road on their own.

That's why I'm still here.

Seems as though the celica boards I'm on . . . there aren't too many people versed in the ways of autos :(

But it's a good source for new parts :D

It's a shame that more of us don't live in closer proximity to one another.

yes, I think it has more to do with the car we obsess over. Think about all the people you know. Then try and guess how many of them would want a 10-15 year old subaru legacy as a daily driver. If any of them do, they're most likely a good friend. I've come to realize that the BC/BF addicts are all very similar, in their own unique ways.

I mean look at the people on the legacysti board. Half of them don't even own a subaru, not to say they aren't good/funny/nice people, but some of them are just bandwagon jumpers.

I dunno, I drove an STi the other day at the BFG Challenge (read: Autox an STi that's not mine for a few laps). Art made a good choice on the S-Tits. Feels like a powerful BC in all reality.

Yea, this board is great. I like that we are, for the most part, on a first name basis. I probably would have never decided to get the Legacy without this board. I'd probably be driving an Integra GSR or 1st Gen Eclipse GSX. I've always wanted a Turbo-BC, and it's nice to know a bunch of people that feel the same about their cars as I do.

If it could be coordinated right and I ever get the money to finish my car, I'd like to drive cross-country and hit a meet on each coast.

I can't find a damn job anywhere and I'm actually hoping Loews 'll hire me. Jesus, one more step down and I'm at 'paper or plastic'... Grrr.

Or "It's $5 up front and you hafta use KY Jelly..."

With enough planning, a national LegacyCentral meet could be organized a few years into the future. Somewhere in the Midwest or toward the center of the continent, so everyone can make it and everyone has a fun drive there.

This board really is my home. It was the first board I ever got active on when I got Internet access, so naturally, I feel most comfortable here. Whenever I sit down to a computer, I check my email, then come straight here to see what's going on. If I don't make it to any other boards, that's fine. But I hafta check this one.

I honestly consider all of you actual friends of mine, even though I've only met one member in person. Not only are you all some of the most enthusiastic Legacy fans I've ever seen, but you're intelligent fans at that, several of us being engineers who can probably build a BC-BF better than SOA can . But also, you all are real people who have real lives and experiences, and are happy to share those experiences with the rest of us, and also offer a listening ear when someone else has a story to tell.

Here's to many more years of LegacyCentral! 8)

If you think this is bad you ain't seen nothing yet. Matt can come up some pretty off-the-wall stuff that can rust an iron stomach :) . BTW, is that supposed to be some reference to Dennis the Menace?

I think that this place is pretty alright. There's quite a few folks who seem to have their heads on straight, low ego levels and all. I've rarely encountered someone who was being short or provocative. I think it's a bunch of bs when people try and act all cool like they think they're the Mike Jordan of Subaru mechanics. The ones who are knowledgeable will always be recognized here. I've never been about false fronts that's why i think this place is cool.
