No matter what it is: flat tire, dead battery, anything except running out of gas, how many times have you got in your car, attempting to go somewhere and it failed to do so?
Mine has NEVER. If I get in my Legacy to go somewhere, it has always gotten me there. No flats, no dead batteries, nothing. Yeah it's done some really weird things along the way, but it has always gotten me there

Well, my Legacy SS stranded me once when the altenator went out and again when a nipple broke on my coolant tank. Both times it occured right as I got to my destination though.

I once could have been stranded in my SS on a long trip. The engine cut out. We told the guy in the back seat to bounce around thinking it might be the fuel wire under his seat. He did and we were able to start the car while coasting on the freeway. lol
My GL-10, although it had NUMEROUS hardtimes, it only stranded me once with a flat tire that was quickly fixed. I'm soo proud of that car. It also blew the tire right in front of a Wal Mart as we Stopped for gas on our 12 hour drive.

1 Fuel pump with my '83 sedan close to home when I was going nowhere in particular.
1 Water pump in the Legacy a week before I was going to change it. Also close to home (in fact a 1/4 mile from where the '83 died) and I had my bike in the back. Coming home from work at the time.
Nothing - not even flats and blown out rims could stop my '84 wagon from getting me home and the '83 drove for months (until I got the legacy) after a tree fell on it while I was driving down the street. Witnesses thought I was dead. I just looked at the damage, told them I was fine, dragged what I could of the tree off the street, and went on my way.

Never had any problems with the legacy. The prelude on the other hand stranded the night i got it because the alternator was bad, and again about a week later because i was stupid and hadnt put a new alternator in yet.
The 260Z used to die on the highway all the time, but would eventually make it back and left me stranded at night when the headlights refused to work again after the third fix right in front of a cop so I had to pull over and pretend they just went out. He wouldn't let me drive it the two miles home.
The voltage regulator dies and it took me several atempts to get the right one. Turned out to be one that it wasn't supposed to have according to the auto parts' computer.
When I finally got rid of the POS it broke down on the highway to the new owner's house and had to be towed. Took another $100 out of my pocket.
That car and I hatred each other and my Subarus are even more fun to drive.
Its not the two times in over 200k worth of old Subaru driving that I've been stranded, its the many many times they made it home.

Hey, Steve. That tree falling on you--glad you made it out okay. Was there a storm going on or did the tree just decide that it liked you so much? How big was the tree and what kind was it?
Now I can tell others that the addage, "But officer, I was just driving down the road and this tree decided to jump out in front of me..." is true. Well, almost. It jumped on you, not in front of you.
Almost forgot, how many times have I been stranded? 9 or 10 tmes --out of gas thrice, flat tires, dead battery, twice stuck in snow (once the right front wheel went off the shoulder, the other time drove into snow so deep that the tires couldn't reach the pavement). The stuck in snow episodes were in a '81 Suby GL dual range 4WD SW, the other incidents were in different cars--VW Bug, Dodge Dart, Dodge Coronet. Right now my Suby doesn't always start--may have to turn the ignition key on and off 20 to 25 times but it finally "catches" and fires up--so that's not a technical strand, I guess.
No, it wasn't even windy when the tree fell. Technically, it was about a third an oak tree. The tree grows right on the edge of the sidewalk (still there) and had two main branches sprouting from the trunk. Now it only has one - the branch nearest the street sheared off for some reason (I think God tried to have me whacked, but got an incompetent organism to try to carry it out. Now that I'm on to him he hasn't tried anything else). The branch with all its appendages fell about ten feet straight onto my car. I saw it coming and had nowhere to go as the other lane had traffic so I just swore and slammed the brake. It hit my hood and slammed the little car to the ground then one of the braches rolled over and off my roof depositing a lot of crap through the open sunroof. I was lucky in that it hit the strut tower, front bulkhead, and passenger A-pillar. You could see the round indent from the strut tower in the hood, which it creased the hell out of. I could barely drag it out of the street - the main limb was about ten inches in diam. Should of hauled it away and made a bed out of it.

My Subaru has never stranded me. My Mercedes has stranded me many times, but it had electrical issues that drained the battery, which I finally figured out. The Blazer standed me a few times with carb and ignition problems, same with the F-100. The Fiero never standed me. The two of the 3 old Audi 5000s I had standed me, but it was just minor stuff, like changing a fuse, or other stupid idiot stuff...

1987 Camry - Never stranded me, never got me there either. I could run faster to wherever i was going.
1992 Celica - The timing belt broke on me on Sept. 11, 2001 while going to class. I will never forget that one because as i was waiting for the tow truck i got to see an F-16 pulling a high G turn right over my head, scared the hell outta me because i knew there weren't supposed to be any planes in the air. Thats the only time i was ever stranded by it, even when the engine blew, it still made the 30 mile trip home, didn't sound very good though. It also got stuck going up my driveway about 20 times, 2 of which required a tow truck to pull me back onto the driveway, and the reason why i bought the Legacy. If you saw my driveway in the winter, you'd understand.
Legacy - The alternator and battery both died within a week of each other, probably one was the result of the other. The wheel fell off on me last winter too, resulting in a tow truck call (my own dumbass fault for not re tightening the lug nuts and thinking the scraping sound was snow in the wheel well).

Never been stranded by my Legacy. It once developed an on again off again problem with the MAF sensor, forcing me to pull off the freeway. After a few minutes of swearing, it continued on and completed a 100+ mile drive. The problem came back, but it was still drivable to a shop.
Got a flat-tire mid destination in my 95 L, but never in the SS so far. It has turned off NUMEROUS times while coasting thanks to the IAC valve. I've always gotten it restarted though.
88 civic - alternator died on me along with a few dead bateries.
92 bronco - we went trailin on a friends farm saw some mud and tried to do some doobies and got stuck. we were bout 10 miles form the nearest road in a desertish terian and 20 miles form the nearest house or establisment. took us 3hours to get dug out
94 ford tarus wagon - went trailin in it for fun and ran it into a dich on a moutain between two cities and we walked to the next town over from where we started. took two days to find the car.
86 celica and 92 sentra - again trailin in a local spot on the south end of the salt lake valley (if you wach insomniac with dave attel when he was in salt lake city its where he was waiting for people to shoot the deer) the sentra had a dead alternator and the celica had a bad conection on the battery and we had to tow both cars down with my 97 L
76 chev scotsdale - ran out of gas several times on the freeway several being more than ten times( gas guage dont work)
88 supra - blew some rings then took it for a 20 mile drive when some coolant that got into the the fuse box cut out all the electrical except for the headlights.
92 sport sedan - when i let my friend drive it he ran out of gas on the freeway

My buddy can't use the headlights in his 98 Eclipse GSX. If he tries to turn them on, the horn goes off, and there's a really good chance of an electrical fire.
it was a pit off to the side of the trail. if it were anymore wet it would have been quick sand. it was the stufff thats lightly crusted over the top but underneath its thick and sticky. it completly filled the tread and the front bumper and axel and rear end were 2 inches from touching the ground. it looked good egough to spin in unitl we got into it and just sank
